UK – RIBA Stages: C-F & K
A 44 acre football training ground and the home of Barnet Football Club. The site includes a 5,100 capacity stadium, four additional grass pitches, two 3G pitches, a wealth of youth, junior and mini pitches, a gym, bar and event space.
The project is ongoing with different elements of the scheme at various stages of completion and a focus on the site’s future development. My involvement with the project included the design and planning application for the new 2,704 capacity west stand, outline planning for the future development of the stadium nearing a total capacity of 10,000 including the requisite turnstiles, escape passages and toilet and safety facilities, a new sports hall, a formal entrance space and an additional banqueting facility. I also worked on the rejuvenation of the existing facilities behind the stadium’s east stand which include a gym and event and banqueting space, these parts of the programme were on site at the time of my involvement.
Within this one project I received a wide range of design work and witnessed many different phases of the construction process. I gained an appreciation for multifaceted, fast developing projects and experienced working directly with the client and construction firm.
