UAE – £250 million – RIBA Stages E-H
A new build, FIDIC contract project situated in Abu Dhabi comprising of two 26 storey towers, their podium and basement and the surrounding landscaping. The building consists primarily of office space designed to house approximately 2100.
I gained a wide range of experience on this project, working with both the interior design team and podium architectural team. As part of the interiors team I sourced samples and prepared a materials presentation for the clients, the samples ranged from wood leather and marble to pieces of designer furniture. However I was primarily tasked with the assembly of production and construction information for the external facades. This included scoping, setting-out and detailed design drawings for the largely louvered facades that enclose the two-storey podium. As a result I developed close working relationships with the MEP engineers and an understanding of the level of communication and flexibility required within such a large project.
I was responsible for compiling a large number of the packages in this project, both for tender at the end of Stage E and for construction during F1 and F2. Prior to the F1 issue I updated all of the GA drawings to reflect changes in basement extents, slab depths, beam positions, openings, and internal rearrangements. I also delivered the design, production and setting out drawings for the 1600 square metre, marble foyer floor.
